• Assembled and grew a high performing team around a common shared vision of the component supply business.  Supported and mentored associates to develop beyond their initial roles and responsibilities to support the agile operation of a complex business with a small team.
• Developed a portfolio review and prioritization process for technology focus areas based on both incoming opportunities and broad market scans for needs, leading to 5 main technology focus areas with highest market potential.
• Collaborated with sales and technical associates to develop customer intake and evaluation process, resulting in over 100 opportunities evaluated and over 40 active customers in an 18-month timeframe after the business launched.
• Supported team to see revenue growth of over 300% from year 1 to year 2.  Empowered associates to achieve full commercialization of 1 major product line in under 12 months, with 2 additional product lines currently nearing commercialization.

Technical Innovator, Core Technology Group 5/2019-6/2020

• Interfaced with R&D scientists and engineers doing fundamental materials research.  Identified potential product and market applications of new materials and aligned further development and testing to support product proof-of-concept.
• Leveraged strong technical expertise, product development experience, and primary and secondary market research in areas of strategic Gore interest to influence portfolio of research projects. Examples of areas explored included digital health, neurostimulation, orthopedics, and implantable sensors.

Innovation Leader, Medical Products Division 2011 – 5/2019

• Developed and refined mission, vision, and strategy for the New Concept Development team to focus efforts of a diverse team around business supported priority product areas.
• Invented, prototyped, and tested implantable medical device concepts to meet identified needs in target markets. Currently named an inventor on 9 granted patents.
• Established and implemented a set of systems and processes for sponsored academic research partnerships, resulting in multiple (>4) funded research efforts at multiple major universities.
• Championed the use of lean startup tools and philosophies throughout the enterprise, including participating in 4 lean startup cohorts, and mentoring 4 additional teams through cohorts.

M&A and Venture Technical Consultant, Medical Products Division 2017-Present

• Evaluated startup companies in target application areas and provided expert evaluations of technology, product, and business plan for the purpose of potential investment or acquisition.
• Initiated and drove an investigation into a startup in the cardiovascular device space. Drove confirmatory diligence effort and supported a proposal and subsequent approval from the Gore Board of Directors for acquisition bid.
• Provided technical and market input to external venture fund partners to influence market areas of focus and individual startup evaluations.

Project Manager, Medical Products Division 1/2005-2011

• Invented and supported development of a thrombectomy device concept through technical feasibility and obtained approval for moving project to a fully supported effort.  
• Managed project team of engineers and scientists from completion of Product Feasibility Point through successful completion of Design Verification. 

Wanderlust Brewing Company

Founder, Head Brewer, CEO 1/2012-8/2023

• Launched a Flagstaff-focused microbrewery with 15,000 gallons/year initial capacity.
• Built a highly motivated team of brewers, salespeople, and taproom staff which enabled double digit revenue growth and statewide distribution over the first 7 years of operation.
• Successfully navigated running a small business through the COVID-19 pandemic, adapting business models and securing funding to retain all employees through the shutdowns.
• Exited the business through a successful sale and transition to a new owner.
